Meet David Magazzinich
I have proudly called Willowdale home my entire life. This is the community that shaped my values, where I built my career, and where my wife and I are raising our family. Willowdale isn’t just where I live—it’s the community I care deeply about and am committed to serving.
I attended school in Toronto before continuing my education at university abroad. Those experiences broadened my perspective, but they also reinforced my appreciation for the community I have always called home.
Throughout my career, I have built and operated several successful businesses. I have founded and grown online companies employing dozens of people and successfully sold businesses that I built from the ground up. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I have learned the importance of fiscal responsibility, accountability, solving problems, and making decisions that create lasting value.
My passion has always been making my community a better place. Every day, I speak with residents, families, seniors, and local business owners who share many of the same concerns: rising costs, worsening traffic, public safety, neighbourhood cleanliness, and the growing feeling that City Hall is no longer focused on the priorities of the people it was elected to serve.
I decided to run for City Council because I believe Toronto deserves better. Too often, our municipal leaders have prioritized ideological agendas over delivering responsible governance and the essential services that residents rely on every day. City Council’s first responsibility should be to safeguard the interests of Torontonians and act as responsible stewards of the tax dollars entrusted to them. Instead, projects and initiatives that do not meaningfully address the fiscal and safety priorities of our community take precedence over those that would.
Watching this growing disconnect between City Hall and the people it serves galvanized many residents to speak up. I chose to step forward and be one of them.
I am not running to become a career politician. I am running because I believe local government should focus on local issues. That means safer neighbourhoods, better value for taxpayers, improved city services, practical solutions to traffic congestion, and policies that make Willowdale an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
My commitment is simple: to bring common-sense leadership, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability back to City Hall. Every decision I make will be guided by one question: Does this make life better for the residents of Willowdale?
